Some familiar electro & IDM at around 120. Mostly older tracks, kind of a loose set.

I haven't followed new anime in a few years, but I heard about Otherside Picnic through preview guides and just watched the first episode. It's a surreal horror/science fiction/supernatural yuri show (loosely inspired by Roadside Picnic, the "Otherside" being the "Zone"). I like it a lot, it seems promising. Will watch the rest of it as it airs.

"The best thing about an influence is to realize it and to swallow it and to never throw it away. It's like throwing away all the advantages of meter or rhyme. Everything is grist to your mill. You want to be on guard but not afraid."
Rosemary Tonks, from a short audio interview clip in the latest episode of the Backlisted podcast. Something about that really struck me today.
Pensive electro up around 140. Features a few new tracks from Lloyd Stellar, Metamatics, and Nullptr, and (as always) some old favorites.

"I Wanna Rock You" by Giorgio Moroder:
"I wanna rock you, I wanna roll you, all night long..."
"Mystic Eyes" by the Polgyamy Boys & Lindsay-J:
"We've been in this rut for far too long / it's time to show me if you're really that
strong
Where is the man I fell so hard for / are you ready to give me more?
Do you have eyes for others? Do you have eyes for me?
Do you have eyes for others? Do you wanna be with me?"

One of my favorite transitions after four years of weekly mixes is "I Wanna Rock You" by Giorgio Moroder to "Mystic Eyes" by Polygamy Boys & Lindsay-J. You can hear that in my most recent recorded mix at https://djcev.com/2020/12/mtt-201-the-robot-is-your-friend/ .
I made it, my sober year is done. This was a tough one.
And now I'm drinking on amateur night.
2 hours and change until 2020 is over in my timezone. Surprised and glad that I'm awake to see it go.
Disco and synthpop for the last mix of 2020. Music for the New Years Eve party in my head.

It's always a huge relief to listen to a fresh audio recording and find no major mistakes. That moment when you realize you didn't mess anything up too bad.
My sober year is almost over so I just walked down to the convenience store and picked up beer. (Better to do it tonight instead of the 31st). I haven't been down there all year; it feels different. The beer is still too expensive though.

#goth #gothic #industrial #synthpop music played by expert DJ's:
The fourth annual Movement Through Thought tracker music mix. Late '90s, mostly XMs and ITs; breakbeat, DnB, and IDM, all on the more ambient end of the scale.
