Finished reading "Zero History" by William Gibson today. I liked it, as I expected. Over the last four months I've read all three "Blue Ant" books and enjoyed them all. Not sure how I'd rank them.

Thinking back on all three, I particularly like the size, scope, and pacing of each story. They're relatively "small" and fast-paced, I think.

At some point I'm going to have to re-read the "Bridge" trilogy.

I'm still awake at 5:30 AM. Now I know my sleep schedule is screwed.

Ugh.

The old Playstation game "N2O: Nitrous Oxide" has been on my mind the past few days.

Probably explains my track selection tonight.

I wish I still had my copy... I think I still have the jewel case w/artwork.

I gave in and made a small pot of tea (at 11:00 PM) to help stay awake.

I hope it won't mess up my sleep schedule.

Scored 445,000 in Strikers 1945 tonight. Made it to the second phase of the stage 5 boss. Felt rusty, out of practice. I can do better.

My friend Megaphysics and I are DJing at Ground Kontrol arcade in Portland tonight. Logical Aggression @ GK 2018/06/27 9:00 PM PST until close. It's free play night, so there's a $5 cover.

I'm bringing a bunch of Pyramid Transmissions, a couple of recent purchases (the first Il.Ek.Tro!), and some of what I've played on the radio this month.

Heading out in about 30 minutes. Will report back with a Strikers 1945 score tomorrow.

85 tracks queued up in an unsorted list. Another ~30 ambient and downtempo bits in a second list. Cue points and tempos roughly worked out. About 30 records packed in a bag. Bags set out, ready to be loaded with equipment.

I think I'm ready to DJ at the arcade tomorrow.

An interesting issue I ran into recently: Transferring files from a MacOS X machine to a FreeBSD one using a USB mass storage device, I saw a large number of errors looking like:

cp: "filename": Invalid Argument

It turns out my device is formatted FAT32, and FreeBSD's mount_msdosfs(8) assumes all filesystems are ISO 8859-1 locale. OS X appears to write UTF-8 filenames to FAT32 FSes. Passing "-L en_US.UTF-8" to mount_msdosfs solves the problem.

Took a few minutes to figure that out.

I'm trying to work up the motivation to go into the city tonight. Stop by the arcade, give Strikers: 1945 some attention. Maybe dig through the bins at Everyday Music.

But it's hot outside, and the middle of allergy season.
