At some point while I was out in Portland my timepiece lost an hour. One clock I saw matched my timepiece so I thought it was correct... then a stranger told me I was off by an hour. Thought i was going crazy. It made catching the bus a little complicated.

I went to a show at the Starday Tavern tonight. "Serious Moonlight", a night run by my friend DJ Cache. I caught up with an old friend, and played the wallflower. Was a fun show.

They're doing it again near the end of next month. Will do my best to attend that one as well.

An adequate chillout set, with a janky Amon Tobin drum & bass track thrown in at the end.

My connection dropped about 35 minutes into the show. DJ Kumata took over at that point and played until I reconnected at about 42 minutes. A bummer, but that's OK.

MTT No. 083 / Armchair Tour

MTT083 Spectrogram

Downtempo, IDM, a bit of old demoscene, a bit of vaporwave. Chill-out music, mostly.

Unfortunately my internet connection dropped a little over halfway through this show. Robot DJ Kumata, aNONradio's mascot DJ, played J-Pop and soundtracks during this period - from roughly 34:48 to 41:32 in the recording.

This show (like most of MTT Year 2) is no longer available for download here. Get in touch with me at the email address listed at the top of this page if you want a copy of it.

The new Trimet night bus service - lines 20 and 57, between say 1:30 and 4:30 - is an adventure.

I couldn't be happier, though. I caught the 3:30 AM bus, got home around 5:30, and was asleep by 7. That's the earliest I've ever gotten home from playing music at the arcade.

It's last Wednesday, and that means DJ Megaphysics and I are playing music at Ground Kontrol tonight.

Logical Aggression @ Ground Kontrol Arcade 2018/09/26 9:00 PM PST until close. It's free play night, so there's a $5 cover.

Techno and electro tonight, similar to my recent aNONradio sets. I believe Megaphysics is going to play in the moody '90s Warp IDM style.

House and Techno. A weird selection; Omar-S into Aphex Twin SAW 1 is kinda strange. It was a good excuse to play three tracks from Legowelt's "TEAC Life".

I just finished reading "New York 2140" by Kim Stanley Robinson. It's a well-written book; a good book. I did not enjoy it. I bounced off it pretty hard.

I think what I disliked is that the book seemed to simply stop about once every thirty pages to tell you something interesting about New York. (Or about Economics). It killed the pacing for me.

Lots of Detroit techno. A bit of house, a bit of ambient-ish techno. Kind of messily mixed; I could use more practice with these tracks. The music is good, though. Particularly those two Los Hermanos tracks...

Movement Through Thought on starts in 30 minutes. My program airs every Friday 6:30 to 7:30 UTC.

I'm going to mash together some techno tonight, mostly Detroit. UR, Transmat, Axis. But also a track or two from that excellent John Beltran that was given away last month.

Check it out at anonradio.net .

I reworked my shelves recently, so here's a photo.

Some day I'll learn how to take a clear photo. Probably the day I pick up a tripod.

Blurry photo of crates and boxes stacked to form shelving, full of media

I have this feeling that I've forgotten something I did wrong in the recent past.

I'm sure there's a word for that. I wonder what it is.

Loose mixing and selection, but good tracks. Electro at ~120 BPM, not too aggressive. Ended with GD Luxxe & Solvent's "Quiet Life", which is a favorite of mine.

My best Strikers 1945 score last night was 494,600. Played two decent games four bad ones.

Not my best score, but good enough to make me feel better after playing like garbage last month.

I'm heading into Portland today. Will stop by Powells, maybe buy a pair of shoes. Then on to the arcade.

The 20 and 57 Trimet bus lines are on their new 24-hour schedules. Those are the exact two busses I need to get home, so I'm looking forward to that.

I'll report back with a Strikers 1945 score.

#Pick5Games

"If you had to recommend someone play 5 games to really get a feel for you/your tastes, what five would you pick?"

1. Quake (SP, QW duel on Aerowalk)
2. Quake 3: CPMA
3. Strikers 1945
4. Shadowrun (SNES)
5. Morrowind

Just video games. Off the top of my head.
