I've been completely fixated on tweaking player movement and physics this last week.

Yesterday I somehow implemented 's pm_slidemove and pm_stepslidemove into Ironwail. It mostly works, though there are some edge cases I'll have to figure out. It feels uncanny to play.

I found out a few days ago that Marshall Sutcliffe (who I know as a Magic: The Gathering match commentator) has a Youtube channel where he meticulously repairs wristwatches.

Just realized I should clarify: sliding up stairs when transitioning from being in the air to being on the ground. So you can jump into stairs and they won't block you and stop your momentum immediately.

So it turns out that the Darkplaces SV_FlyMove code is pretty similar to the same function in Ironwail. Using Darkplaces as a template I was able to implement sliding-up-stairs in Ironwail 0.7.0 last night.

I probably did it wrong in some subtle way but for now it seems good. Playable. And it's such a dramatic improvement to the game that it's worth it, I think.
