Electro, Detroit and otherwise, for an impromptu US Independence Day show.

We've got thunder here. It feels like the power is going to go out any minute. Might be a good time for a walk.
A bit of slow-ish music to relax with after playing the arcade. Downtempo,
electro, IDM, a bit of ambient.

Another last Wednesday, another show at Ground Kontrol Arcade.
DJ Megaphysics opened the night with a good set of oldschool
electro and 2000s Dutch electronic (Viewlexx, Creme, etc.).
Then I took over from 11:30 PM until close. Here's what I played:
I'm heading out to the arcade tonight. My friend Megaphysics and I play music at Ground Kontrol in #pdx every last Wednesday. We'll be starting at 9:00 PM; the show is 21 and over, games are set to free play, and there's a $7 cover.
I'm bringing some recent electro purchases, some music from Om Unit's label Cosmic Bridge, and some mellow IDM. Fun times.
There's some Quake on this morning.
#quake3 #CPMA Beginners Duel Cup 8, currently showing a lower bracket game at this #stream:
"Cheers mate". That was super good. Reminded me a lot of the Lego Feet album, which I guess makes sense, since the show is on the schedule as "Warp Tapes 89-93".
Autechre is just starting over on the Warp 30th anniversary NTS WXAXRXP radio stream.
The celebration continues through Sunday, with sets from... like, everbody. Check the schedule.
Breaks & electro, a bit higher tempo than last week's show. I pulled a
couple obscure records (and a flac or two) off the shelf for this one.

Electro. '80s, '90s, and modern throwback pieces. Banging out some dance-y
tracks, rocking out for an hour.

I was thinking I don't write enough, so here's a little something
about what is probably my favorite series of DJ mixes.
Quoting Droid from the Blogariddims Top 50 post, who
puts it better than I could:
For those that don't know, Blogariddims is a fortnightly inter-blog
podcast which was started in June 2006, with the aim of showcasing
the high level and variety of selecting, mixing and writing talent
in the small corner of the music blogosphere inhabited by nuumskulls,
faded-junglists, genre-nerds and bass addicts of every stripe.
I'm trying to remember how to write. By which I mean compose an essay, or short blog post. It's hard. Writing frightens me.
Oh hey, there's some Quake on.
125fps #quakechampions Timelimit duel cup, #stream and casting by Zoot:
Had to chase a moth out of my room just now. I've been finding lots of spiders lately, too. Maybe I should have cleaned this spring.
I've been feeling sick recently, so this show is on the slower side.
Ambient, downtempo, hiphop, etc.; 90-100 BPM, nothing fancy.
