Tracklist for last week's Movement Through Thought: djcev.com/2020/05/31/mtt-170

and at : anonradio.net/mtt-170-tranquil

90 BPM stuff, as promised. I've wanted to play both Skank by Higher Intelligence Agency and High Roller by The Crystal Method for years and finally managed to do it this episode. Other than that, there are good tunes here by HKE, Low Orbit Satellite, Luke Vibert, Michna... it was a good selection.

I hate talking to someone while a TV is on in the background. I feel like the TV is usually talking TO you, competing for your attention. Especially the news. Talking over it is difficult.

I was craving sugar, so I walked down to the corner store and bought candy. I learned that candy has gotten more expensive, and I"m bad at selecting it. I went straight for the brand-name stuff. Total amateur move. Spent way too much money as a result.

I should really try to write up these little tracklists faster. I usually get hung up somewhere, though. It takes me about three days to name the show, decide what to say about it, etc.

I guess that's fine.

Spacey electro and breaks at ~125. I jumped at the chance to play Sasha's new track Head Melter, and filled out the hour with new music by Andy Garvey, Koova, Low Orbit Satellite, and Zobol, plus an old favorite by Silicon Scally at the end.

CW: Death, Journalist, Anime Critic

Zac Bertschy passed away a few days ago. He was executive editor of Anime News Network, a critic and fan, a compassionate human being. I've been reading his reviews and listening to his podcast for over a decade. I even spent some time with his bad movie club (CYS). I never knew him personally, but I learned a lot from him.

I'll miss him. RIP Zac Bertschy.

I found a playlist of Kiyoshi Kurosawa movies on youtube and made the mistake of watching Cure (1997) right at lunchtime. I'm gonna be in a funk for the rest of the day.

I bought 22 releases on bandcamp yesterday. Spent way too much money...

Picked up 10 EPs on TRUST, two from J. Shaw, two from Lobster Theremin, two from Pyramid Transmissions, and two from Sci-fact, plus a few loose bits from Client_03, Ian o'Brien, and Subtle Audio.

The collector in me is very happy right now.
