MTT168 Spectrogram

Electro, techno, a little weirdness. In roughly that order.

Some new tracks in this hour: Cruces Motile by Adam Jay, from his 2020 album Inoperable Data; Zobol's Descending from their album Foreign Objects on Sci-fact, out last year; Advanced Reality by Daze from the first Pure Space comp, also released last year. The Adam Jay album in particular is really good, and has been on rotation here since January.

Track 8 Inception by Luka Baumann is from an old EP on the Biomechanics netlabel called As We Drift Apart. Mixcloud identified the track and linked to a release on Junodownload called The Jolka Experience where Inception also appears, although at a lower tempo (128 instead of 134). Discogs tells me that Jolka is one of Baumann's aliases. Just an interesting programming note.

The techno section of this mix could have cooked a little longer. All the tracks are good but Outline's mix of Feeling by Trackman and Scenario by Jeff Mills sound a little out of place to me. That's OK though, it sets up Cruces Motile which sets up Fighting Without Fighting by Peverelist, the one track I really wanted to play this week.

I'll be back on Friday the 22nd at 06:00 UTC (that's Thursday the 21st at 11:00PM PDT). I'm on a roll with the breaks/electro/techno thing so that's what'll be happening.
