This is on my mind because I picked up Fallout New Vegas about a week and a half ago. Spent a day getting it to work under #FreeBSD (thru Wine, it works pretty well), then spent about a week trying out different mods. Quit modding and started playing a few days ago.

I enjoy the Bethesda open-world games as, like, dress-up games. Trying different clothing mods and such. I wish the gamebryo engine had an in-game model editor so it was easy to make different outfits, body models, etc.

I like the idea of the nerevarine, or the courier from new vegas, deciding to abandon their quest and start a clothing line.

I was pretty down on this set, but listening to it now it's totally fine. The tracks by E-Control, Exaltics, and Userwave stood out to me more today. And closing with Überzone was a good move.

Not my best work, but it's fine. I've wanted to play "R9" by Cybotron and one of the big, loud mixes of "Botz" by Überzone for a while, and they somehow ended up in the same set, so that's cool.

Another ~130 BPM electro show, less angry than the previous one. The highlights this week were Scan 7's "It's Time" and UR's classic "Illuminator". This was a pretty good set, one of the rare ones that comes together at the last second.

I was just searching for articles about that and they're hard to find now.

I've been in a few other demonstrations, protesting the war in the early 2000s, but those were all peaceful. I sat out Occupy because I was drunk most of that time.

Part of me wants to go downtown for these protests, but another part of me says the last thing they need is another white kid from out of town. I don't know.

I was at Pioneer Courthouse Square on New Years Eve 2000 when people gathered only to find out the city didn't have an event planned. Cops showed up and started giving orders, the people reacted by surround a group of cops and one car. The cops then used tear gas [EDIT: in retrospect was probably a smoke grenade] on the crowd; the crowd dispersed into the city, smashing windows as it went. That seems like a modest police response in retrospect, compared to what's going on now.

I'm horrified by the police violence happening right now. I want to curl up in a ball and just sleep forever. Actually, no, what I want to do is get drunk for like a week. Not going to do that, though. I'm still on my sober year.
