@t. My last laptop, now broken and recycled.

I am a sticker person.

Some more ambient & IDM I've been listening to, plus a few goofy tracks at the end. I really love that XY0815 album and those Micronaut EPs.

Woah, there's stuff in my beatport downloads I don't remember purchasing. Let's just snag these and see what they are...

I'm playing music on in 30 minutes. Movement Through Thought, every Friday 6:30 to 7:30 UTC. (Which is Thursday 11:30 PM PST).

It's time for the relatively-lower-tempo set of the month. It's going to be a lazy one - a small number of long tracks. Chillout, downtempo, IDM, etc. A lot of HIA and Chris Randall I think.

Listen at anonradio.net/listen .

It's last Wednesday again, which means Megaphysics and I are playing music at Ground Kontrol tonight.

I'm still on an IDM kick, so that's what I'm playing. I think Megaphysics is going to play disco (in the CBS / Intergalactic FM sense).

CEV & Megaphysics @ Ground Kontrol Arcade in Portland, Oregon 2018/05/30 9:00 PM PST until close. Free play night, $5 cover.

Success. x86 running under FreeBSD 11.1-Release. JACK for audio, no MIDI. Possible with FreeBSD's Linux ABI support.

Renoise x86_64 should be possible; I'll need to compile a copy of JACK1 in a CentOS 7 64-bit environment and try it.

I'd done this previously in a jail, but it runs much better without having to remote X.

Software upgrades complete. My guess was right, it took approximately five hours.

Now I think I'll move Renoise out of its jail environment and into my main system. That means installing emulators/linux-c7 ...

Software upgrade day. I just started portmaster -a.

qt5-webkit and llvm need to be upgraded, so I figure it'll be done in... four hours? five?

Radio show done. I'll post the tracklist after I sleep. (And after I figure out what to say).

Really weird show tonight. Good tracks, mediocre-to-bad mixing. I think I'll rework the set and play it at the arcade next week.

Electro and IDM this week. I needed to play that Lanark Artefax track that's been going around, and cobbled a set together to get there. Ends with me cheating by playing Puzl by Gescom in full. Good times.

"A Not So Brief History of Electro, Part One" by Steve Mizek

A Not So Brief History of Electro, Part One | Reverb LP

Electro has returned to dancefloors and new-release bins. Learn where the genre began.

lp.reverb.com

Found on reddit's r/electro. Covers 1980s . Posting so I'll remember to look for part 2. '80s electro is well covered in the music press (I think). '90s and '00s receives much less attention, so hopefully part 2 will be good.
