Movement Through Thought on starts in 30 minutes. The program airs every Friday 6:30 to 7:30 UTC.

I'm tired from being out in the city last night. So, I'll be playing ambient, downtempo, instrumental hip-hop, etc. tonight. Neotropic, FSOL, Red Snapper, bits and pieces I have laying around.

Tune in at anonradio.net/listen .

It's the last Wednesday again - Megaphysics and I are playing music at Ground Kontrol arcade in tonight. Logical Aggression @ GK 2018/07/25 9:00 PM PST until close. Games are on free play tonight, so there's a $5 cover.

I'm bringing a stack of '80s electro and some of the disco I was playing on anonradio this month.

If you come down to GK and see me, say hello. I should take a new picture...

The Backlisted Podcast just put up an episode discussing The Return of the King. (The third Lord of the Rings book, to be clear).

71. J.R.R. Tolkien - The Return of the King — Backlisted

In this episode of Backlisted Andy and John are joined by Dan Kieran, author and entrepreneur and co-founder of Unbound. Dan is the author of twelve books, including the timeless classic Crap Towns , and the soon-to-be-published The Surfboard: How Using My Hands Helped Unlock My Mind...

Backlisted

Backlisted typically covers overlooked literary fiction, so this episode was a surprise to find in my feed reader this morning. It's one of my favorite podcasts, always worth the time. And for once I've read the book they're talking about.

Electro. House? A slightly weird selection this week. I'm pretty happy with this one. I seem to have developed a scratchy potentiometer, though.

I just finished reading "Autonomous" by Annalee Newitz.

There were a lot of interesting sci-fi ideas packed into its 300 pages. (Biotech, robot (& human) autonomy, freedom of information, etc.) It frequently made me uncomfortable, but in a way that inspired me to think, not to put the book down.

I enjoyed reading it, and I'm enjoying thinking about it now.

518,500 in Strikers 1945 tonight. Made it about three quarters of the way through stage 6.

I wish I had a good portable camera.

Finished reading "Zero History" by William Gibson today. I liked it, as I expected. Over the last four months I've read all three "Blue Ant" books and enjoyed them all. Not sure how I'd rank them.

Thinking back on all three, I particularly like the size, scope, and pacing of each story. They're relatively "small" and fast-paced, I think.

At some point I'm going to have to re-read the "Bridge" trilogy.

I'm still awake at 5:30 AM. Now I know my sleep schedule is screwed.

Ugh.

Breakbeats, in the style of what I listened to in high school in the late '90s. Some slop in the mixing and phrasing, but I'm happy enough with the result.

The old Playstation game "N2O: Nitrous Oxide" has been on my mind the past few days.

Probably explains my track selection tonight.

I wish I still had my copy... I think I still have the jewel case w/artwork.

85 BPM stuff. Ambient, vaporwave, downtempo, drum & bass, etc.... Pretty happy with the selection here. Particularly happy I managed to play the ambient & vaporwave tracks.
