Looking back on it now I think both AWO and Paul Chapman's Greatest Movie Ever! Podcast did a lot to improve my media literacy. I think about AWO's episode on Initial D frequently for the phrase "seeing the same thing and reaching different conclusions" as a way to express differing tastes in art.

(And now I realize I might be misremembering that phrase; will have to re-listen to that Initial D episode).

Looked up the Anime World Order podcast last night for the first time in years, saw they had a recent episode on Here Is Greenwood (1991) & gave it a listen. I'm happy to report they're still podcasting like it's 2010. Better microphones but the vibe seems more or less the same.

I followed AWO regularly ~15 years ago, loved their show then & it's still good now.

I'm really fixated on cleaning up my files lately. Deleting stuff I collected but never watched or read or listened to, removing old no-longer-needed project files, that kind of thing. Straightening up the contents of my hard drives.

Part of it is the current storage costs (I won't be able to upgrade so I have to slim down). Part of it is because it feels good to travel light, to look around and know where everything is.
