MTT283 Spectrogram

Funk, electro, and a little bit of 2000s disco. A few long tracks in the first 20 minutes & some pretty loose mixing. Nothing new this time I'm afraid, just some good tunes.

Right-click save-as here or on the spectrogram above to download this mix. This mix is also available at mixcloud.

The most recent track here is #10 Erebus by Synthman (AKA Reeno). A funky piece showcasing the Dreadbox Erebus synthesizer, part of a small series of cool synth demos by Synthman available from the Reeno / Spazzoid bandcamp. (The others are M1, Me & my MOOG, and Your Spaceship?).

I've played selections from Paul Hardcastle's Rain Forest LP three weeks in a row now. I have the Profile Records US release, the one with the famous cover. It's my understanding that it's a kind of singles and B-sides compilation of material previously released in the UK. Snappy melodic electro, an absolute classic, one of my favorite albums. Most of the tracks on the LP are available now directly from Hardcastle's bandcamp on a release called Electrofied 80s.

Edit: Track #11 Tilt-Top by Solvent is on the vinyl but not the CD version of Apples & Synthesizers. I have the vinyl and previously was linking to the CD above, despite the track not being available on the CD / digital. Tilt-Top was originally released on the Snow Robots Vol. 3 compilation on Suction Records and can be purchased from their bandcamp page at that link and at the (now corrected) tracklist link above.

And that's what I've got today, what I've got for the last show of July. Sorry for some loose beatmatching & mixing, I hope it doesn't reflect badly on the music. I'll be back next week with another mix, playing some bass for August.
