MTT013 Spectrogram

Disco? Disco. Right-click save-as here or on the spectrogram above to download the mix from aNONradio's archives.

  1. Kerrier District / Sho U Rite
  2. Daniel Wang / Berlin Sunrise (Die Nacht)
  3. Susumu Yokota / Re: Disco
  4. Dream Disco / Take Me Home (Dubstrumental Version)
  5. R.E.M. / Computer Communication (Remix)
  6. Makina Girgir / Siren Scam
  7. Orgue Electronique / The Plot
  8. Bangkok Impact / Passenger
  9. Ghecko / Firelight (Fleming Dalum Mix)
  10. Squadra Blanco / We Are The Illuminati
  11. The Conservatives / Loneliness
  12. The Parallax Corporation / Burning Ignorance
  13. Gary's Gang / Makin' Music (Dub Mix)

This is largely an excuse to listen to Makin' Music by Gary's Gang. The rest of the tracks are a mixture of old Viewlexx, Creme, and Ghostly International. (If you like these tracks, seek out the Disco Nouveau comp on Ghostly.)

Inspired by hazy memories of the CBS.

MTT012 Spectrogram

Techno. House? Detroit, vaguely Detroit, and perhaps not Detroit at all. Right-click save-as here or on the spectrogram above to download the mix from aNONradio's archives.

This show (like most of MTT Year 1) is no longer available for download here. Get in touch with me at the email address listed at the top of this page if you want a copy of it.

  1. Indio / Kino Flow
  2. Shanti Celeste / Universal Glow
  3. Fairmount Squad / Pro One
  4. Suburban Knight / Shape Shifter
  5. UR / Untitled [UR038 B2]
  6. System 7 vs. Derrick May / Prototype 1
  7. Model 500 / The Messenger
  8. The Martian / Medicine Man
  9. Dark Matrix / Untitled [LSF007 D3]
  10. Shanti Celeste / Porto Seguro
  11. 69 / Pungtang 2
  12. Derrick May / Drama
  13. Suburban Knight / Midnight Sunshine
  14. Ian O'Brien / Mad Mike Disease
  15. The Martian / Windwalker
  16. Dave Angel / So High

Not sure what to highlight here. That Fairmount Squad record is good and very strange. Shanti Celeste is consistently great. See if you can break the code on UR038 B2.

A couple of these tracks come from the excellent Megatech Body CD and Ghost in the Shell Tribute albums - those albums are unique. Megatech Body CD is the soundtrack to the "Ghost in the Shell" playstation game, expanded out to two discs. "Ghost in the Shell Tribute" is, I think, a series of two CDs paying tribute to GITS released after the playstation game and its soundtrack. Those deserve a longer writeup, and probably their own dedicated mix.

MTT011 Spectrogram

Electro, Footwork, and Drum & Bass. Right-click save-as here or on the spectrogram above to download the mix from aNONradio's archives.

  1. J Shaw / Ride The Waves
  2. Aux 88 / Computer Speaks
  3. Paul Blackford / The Bunker
  4. Kitbuilders / Everything Is
  5. DJ Stingray / Serotonin
  6. Paul Blackford / Aqua Theory
  7. Skip Club Orchestra / Back In Ray (Version)
  8. Crypticz / Rolla
  9. DJ Tre / Unreleased Track 2k14!
  10. DJ Spinn / 2020
  11. Gnyonpix / Metal City
  12. Hidden Agenda / Vindication
  13. Aquasky / Sea Monkey
  14. The Lithium Project / Mars Plastic (3rd Eye)
  15. Boymerang / A.C.I.D.
  16. Source Direct // Intensity / Generations

This is an experiment with a few different styles of music that share a common tempo. First is some fast electro (Paul Blackford's excellent Militant Science, Stingray, and a few oddball pieces). Next is a grab-bag of Footwork. Then '90s Drum & Bass to close it out.

There's a lot more good music in these three styles (tones, tempos) so I'll definitely be exploring this again in the future. Sadly I mistimed the closing fade, so be prepared for an abrupt ending.

MTT010 Spectrogram

Picked up a few electro releases this week, so that's what I played.

  5. H&S / v983.1
  6. Transparent Sound & Scape One & Karoshi / Synthnotizer
  7. Silicon / Translucent Future

  12. Eggfooyoung / Pop and Lock
  13. Professor X / Professor X (Saga)

  16. Umwelt / Secret of a Black World (Part 1)
  17. Novamen / Murdercapital Mentality
  18. The Egyptian Lover / The 808

This one's all over the map. I've been looking for V-Max v983 for... well, since it was released. Picked up the digital version on bandcamp and just had to play it. "Roma Aeterna", "Murdercapital Mentality" and that Dogon vs. Wee DJs record are also recent acquisitions. Mashed 'em all together with some music that suits my local (currently warm) weather.

Also: he's the scientist who studies all the music.
