I wish I were a better writer. Even something as short as a few paragraphs is a struggle. I suspect it's a lack of focus and a lack of practice. There's probably some bad habits I need to abandon, too.

As fatal1ty once said, "practice practice practice. If you're aren't practicing you should be practicing. So keep practicing.".

More fun with VHS tapes.

E.Y.E.S. Of Mars, 1993, english dub, recorded off the Sci-Fi channel. I suspect this movie (OAV?) was made by or funded by a church. It's, ah, not very good, so I haven't been able to find much online about it.

Opening credits title card for the movie E.Y.E.S. Of Mars

I made a foolish mistake and cleared my browser history. Now I can't find anything.

Should've taken better notes.

MTT 181 / Block To Block

MTT181 Spectrogram

Tough loud electro and electro bass up around 135 BPM. Most of it from Florida. I might be working out some aggression here. Features tracks by Dynamix II, Code Rising, Ohverclock, Phonotronix, a few DJ Wreck (AKA Salim Rafiq AKA Gucci Bass) remixes, and more.

This mix is no longer available for download from this website. It is however available at mixcloud.

Talking with a friend about a small weekday concert I might have gone to over a decade ago. Something at Rotture, I think [SIK] and Ignatius played. I swear if I start going out to shows regularly again I'll do blog posts or take notes or something, just so I'll remember the events.

Was just putting together purchase links to go with the blog post about yesterday's MTT radio show and I'm happy to find that both "Terra" by E.V.A.C. and DJ Overdose's "The Beat" EP are up on bandcamp. Those two are important to me, so I'm glad they're more widely available now.

Well that was a cathartic set. Tough uptempo 808 driven electrobass is my favorite rowdy smashing-things music. I've felt like I needed to smash something for months.

Ah dang, I missed the first day of #Quakecon yesterday. It looks like they're doing a tournament with the players at home with two brackets (EU and US). The top three from the two brackets will compete on Sunday.

Yesterday's games can be seen on twitch here:

Quake World Championship - Day 1 - A Stream - quake on Twitch

quake went live on Twitch. Catch up on their Quake Champions VOD now.

Today's games should start in an hour or two.

I took advantage of bandcamp day and bought a bunch of stuff. Client_03's Thought Disposal EP, the Habibi Bass EP by Cyan85 and Turk Turkelton, two new-ish miami electrobass EPs by Code Rising and Ohverclock, and most of the EON Records catalog. A whole bunch of bass. Spent way too much money.

Tracklist for last week's Movement Through Thought: djcev.com/2020/07/31/mtt-179

and at : anonradio.net/mtt-179-dance-ar

A fine mix. The last 20 minutes are particularly good, I think. A new Legowelt track, more from Ian o'Brien's great album Desert Scores, Neuroactive. Not as chill as I thought it'd be.
